Computer Characterization of Microwave High-power Load

Reflections and patterns of dissipated power of 915 MHz water load produced by The Ferrite Company, Inc. are computed by QuickWave-3D for water temperatures from 5 to 60C. Simple model generalizing experimental data is used for calculating the dielectric constant of tap water. It is shown that low reflections take place for all operating temperatures, and microwave power is dissipated primarily within the conical part of water cavity, so possible shortening of its cylindrical part is suggested.
